More Darkwater News
I’m late with updates because I can only do hobby stuff on nights and weekends, but here’s the latest leaks! What happened in the last couple days? A blurry pre-release photo leaked out: So GW tried to get ahead of the story with a post on Warhammer-Community. They put a good spin on it and offered to reveal more into about a single character based on a poll. These are the choices: I voted for the dwarf, but the knight won. I don’t mind, he’s pretty cool. But I think the biggest news (division) is the board pictured above. It looks like a map-book. My knee jerk reaction was that I didn’t like it. It looks very unimpressive. There’s hardly any components pictured. What precisely are we getting for what I can only guess will be $250 US. With a map-book, that means that there’s no more exploration aspect to…
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater – Early Thoughts and Observations
A few interesting things about Darkwater in these early, early days. Descriptive text from GW We’ve really only see the cover art and a couple blurbs. A couple blurbs you say? Indeed. There are two pages up with (minimal) info about WHQ:DW. The most widely circulated link is the Warhammer Community post: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/b7qzhmxz/announcing-warhammer-quest-darkwater/ Evil lurks in the dark, there’s something in the water, and the whole of Ghyran is under threat. It’s probably time to gather together a band of heroes, renegades, and misfits, and go on a Quest…That’s right! Warhammer Quest: Darkwater
Back in March my local Warhammer store associate (there’s only one. Just one guy) told me not to expect any more Cursed City content, but to keep an eye out for perhaps a new game some time. Looks like he’s pretty much right. We did get Grombrindal in May of 2025, but that’s it. And now we have the announcement for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater! It appears to be in the same vein as Cursed City. Set in the Age of Sigmar. Though I’m holding out judgment until I see the back of the box. Ohh, I’m looking forward to that! No details yet, other than what’s here. Cursed City was available roughly two months after it was announced. I’ve been banging the “there hasn’t been any WHQ this year!” drum for a while now. We’ll see what the timeline and additional details emerge. I’m excited!
