White Dwarf 520 – Ghouls in Darkwater

Warhammer Quest: Darkwater has its first expansion content. Ghouls.

I’ve been a little slow making posts about Darkwater updates because they’ve been coming out in White Dwarf magazines. I’m incredibly fortunate to have a subscription to White Dwarf, however, that means that my issues aren’t delivered until midway through the following month. So, I’m a bit delayed. No big deal.

As always, check out the video from ABNB:

So, I just received my copy of White Dwarf 520 and will soon check out what the Flesheater Courts bring to the labyrinthine corridors of the Jade Abby.

The Heroes:

For a grand total of: $168.00 U.S. (plus tax). Ummmm… What? Four minis. $170+

Rawthroat Gorse

The miniature is a Marrowscroll Herald

$39.00 U.S.

Porvyle the Bold

The miniature is a Royal Decapitator

$39.00 U.S.

Friar Skinseam

The miniature is an Abhorrant Cardinal

$42.00 U.S.

Bledivir Blackwing

The miniature is an Abhorrant Gorewarden

$48.00 U.S.

I have good news and bad news:

The good news is that I bought a miniature in anticipation of this issue. The bad news is that I bought Grand Justice Gormayne and he’s not part of the party. Woops!

But, in other good news, these minis can be proxied and I already have!!! Check that article out here. Except for the friar. Maybe I’ll proxy the Grand Justice for the friar?

We’ve played through Act I. It’s been fun. I don’t feel quite as connected to these characters as heroes from other games. Cursed City feels more compelling overall. So, for whatever reason I’m not running out to buy these “official” minis. I like having real minis for heroes, but that feeling hasn’t been as pressing for Darkwater.

We’ll definitely keep going. Maybe the hook will really sink-in after a few more games.
