My Favorite Minis
All miniatures are pretty great, but some are greater than others. I really can’t start talking about my favorite minis without starting where it all began… Britains The classic toy soldiers are absolutely where my love for these little people started. A local specialty toy retailer stocked Britains and my brother and I spent lifetimes drooling over the catalogs and peering through the display cabinet glass. Debating about which figure to get. Cowboys? Soldiers? Knights? Space aliens???? Sadly, Britains have been gone for a while. But I still have most if not all of them. Silver Tower Expansions
Silver Tower came out in 2016 and offers several interesting expansions. The rebirth of Warhammer Quest in the Age of Sigmar universe. We’ve played some Silver Tower and have really enjoyed it. There’s a large variety of heroes and monsters to add into the game and shares basic mechanics with all of its successors. I’ve included all the White Dwarf magazines that were released for Silver Tower and Shadows Over Hammerhal since the heroes and monsters overlap. What’s on the Table?!
Combat Arena: Lair of the Beast Our first try with this iteration. We usually play Gorechosen. We made a bunch of mistakes but still had fun. Next time we’ll fight each other as well as the Ambull.
Gorechosen Schemes
I’ve been on a bit of a Gorechosen/Combat Arena kick lately, and just started painting the models. Here are some great paint schemes. I need to pick a basing scheme too. I don’t plan to go all-out like some of these painters, they’ve outdone themselves! The Khorne models are a bit “samey”, but these painters have done a great job of differentiating the minis. I especially like the blue Skulltaker by Next Level Painting. It’s a little funny that even some of the newest things in my collection are a bit old now.
