Blitz Bowl Proxy Sizes
Apologies for probably my lowest energy post ever, but I knew it was going to happen sometime. Here’s some good info about Blood/Blitz Bowl mini sizes for those of you proxying at home.
Blood Bowl Has The Best Minis
We play Blitz Bowl in my house, but they’re the same minis. If you’ve ever wondered what GW minis would look like if they were infused with 50% more whimsy, take a look at the entire Blood Bowl lineup. When I was a kid, I didn’t like the idea of sworn mortal enemies playing a game with each other. There should be swords and blood! But now, in my dottering old age, I appreciate the silliness. The whimsy, even. Who knows why that goblin has a chainsaw, or pogo stick? I don’t, but isn’t he cute?! The Teams Here’s the current roster of BB teams. They’re all pretty great in their own ways. Now, GW has made Blood Bowl teams for decades. Made of metal before they were plastic. All kinds of little guys, full of character, in contrast with… The Big Guys Some teams get the “benefit” of Big…

Gargoylian Follow-Up
A few weeks ago I wrote about the Gargoylian in Cursed City. Since then, I’m still thinking about gargoylians. Specifically, do I need to acquire more gargoylian models? The first step is, what sets come with these adorably blood-thirsty magical creatures? Quick note: The Cities of Sigmar Army box and Spearhead box both recycle the Cavaliers, so there are no unique gargoylians to be had there. I’ve identified five sets that come with gargoylians, with eleven total models: Freeguild Cavaliers Now, most people will tell you that this set comes with one gargoylian. I believe it comes with two. Look at that weird bird thing! Have you ever seen a bird with a chin?! GARGOYLIAN! Tahlia Vedra Lioness-of-the Parch This is a big hero model but Warhammer.com pictures don’t have a good shot of the gargoylian, so here’s a painted up version over at CAM2D at Tumblr. Freeguild Command Corps…

The Art of Cursed City
Cursed City is a beautiful game. The artwork is incredible. There is an air of mystery, misery, and despair cloaking every facet of the game. The cards and components are darkly beautiful. The marketing art is iconic. Saying nothing about the miniatures either, which are a cut above even GW’s high standards. I’ve included some of my favorite images below. Sadly, I don’t expect to see more Cursed City content. But maybe GW will throw another set of heroes or monsters in a White Dwarf.
